Summarizing Skills
This one-day course addresses the challenges of summarizing information from detailed source materials. This task can be tedious and time-consuming. Now you can reduce the time and effort you spend on writing your summaries with the easy-to-use techniques offered in this workshop.
The focus of this course is on the immediate application of the summarizing process, with practice sessions and case studies. As well, we strongly recommend that participants bring to the session their own source materials for immediate application of the course concepts.

- use specialized models for summary documents: executive summaries, literature reviews, research notes
- determine when to quote from sources verbatim and when to paraphrase
- identify and correct the grammar errors
