This six-hour course addresses the challenges of summarizing information from detailed source materials. Now you can reduce the time and effort you spend on writing your summaries, either manually or with AI tools, with the easy-to-use techniques offered in this workshop.
With practice sessions and case studies, we focus on the immediate application of the summarizing process, including tips for using AI tools,. We recommend that participants bring to the session their own source materials for immediate application of the course concepts.

In this six-hour workshop, you will learn to
- apply a process specifically designed for writing summaries
- use research short-cuts and AI tools to save time and effort
- maximize your computer as a tool for summarizing information
- avoid the pitfalls of pulling too much or too little information from the source
- use specialized models for summary documents: executive summaries, literature reviews, research notes
- determine when to quote from sources verbatim and when to paraphrase
- identify and correct the grammar errors
